Well here it is, Snake Bite from 1988.

I was very lucky bringing this relic back from the dead as I never had a disk
drive for the C64, but the god awful datasette. (A crappy tape recorder that
always got unaligned!)

A few years ago I found a cassette with all my old games and demos I wrote. I
looped my stereo into my PC, recorded the tape to lots of WAV files, then using
WAV2PRG converted them to PRG files (PC CBM format) I managed to get most of
them working in a C64 emulator! Yeah!

All you need is a CBM64 emulator (What do you mean you don't have one?) CCS64 is
the best one for Windows, and I hear VICE is good too.

It's easy to laugh at it I know, but I wasn't a good programmer back then
either! So not much has changed. ;-) Just for the curious, it was done using
compiled basic, mixed with lots of little machine code routines.

There are not many game differences, holes in the floor are the new spikes, Tail
and Headhunters are Yorick and Eyelean, no green mushrooms or scrolling.

But at least you can shoot items right next to the snake head. (eh? Holger? eh?)

Unfortunately there's no restart button, so if you get trapped you have to
either kill yourself, or switch off! :-O

Good times!

Alan.
